Refuse & Recycling

In the Village of Berkeley, refuse and recycling is collected in two identifiable carts.  Each home is provided one cart for refuse and an additional cart for recycling. The collection of the recycling cart will be on a weekly basis.

The base cost for the recycling and refuse program includes a fair, fixed volume of capacity. If more refuse is generated for disposal than the cart can hold in one week, a resident may purchase a prepaid tag for each additional volume of waste set out that week.

As of 6/1/23, the monthly refuse/recycling monthly rate is $23.02/month. The cost for an additional refuse or recycling cart is $3.00/month. The rate increase will be reflective on the July 2023 bill.

To report that a garbage was missed or a complaint regarding refuse collection, please contact the Lakeshore Recycling  directly at 1-844-633-3577 or visit their website for specific information about the Village's program.
