Water

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining several miles of underground water main and residential water service connections throughout the Village of Berkeley. Public Works tests drinking water quality, in accordance with an IEPA mandated water quality sampling program, on a daily basis and periodically flushes the water delivery system through hydrant flushing and repair. Public Works is also responsible for the repair, replacement and reading of water meters, the tracking of maintenance activity for over 1800 customer meters in the system, and water system turn ons and shut-offs.
